Whats up with Knights? o.o Empty

(Once again, for Normal High Rate server[s])

First and foremost, why a Knight? The pros and cons!

Pros:
-Has the highest base attack of any class in the game.
-While being highly offensive, they also have a huge amount of health.

Cons:
-First of all, VERY item dependent.
-That leads to the second point where gearing a knight would be a very expensive thing to do.
-Being a melee class, it has to get close before it can deal damage, however "Charge Attack" makes this so much better.

Other than that, there's really not alot of bad things you can say about Knights.

Stats:

For this part of the guide, I will not give you set numbers but a range that you can work with, making your own build is always fun!

Str: 270-280

This determines your attack obviously, most people would go all the way and max it to 280. I however would suggest not too. 1 point spent to power up strength later on would cost many points that could be spent elsewhere. The way Str works is where every ten points in Str will give a bonus, this is how base attacks go crazily high. So just look at the bonuses you get from your items and Job bonus, try to in the end have your Str value be divisible by ten.

Agi: Enough for 192 Aspd basically ~130

Some people really like this stat for some reason and add a whole bunch. Personally I think hit for a knight is more important than Flee, I mean knights aren't sins or stalkers, they won't be dodging left and right. Plus having more points in dex reduces the amount of Agi needed to reach max aspd. Just basically find a balance where you can reach 192 aspd with your weapons by having the lowest amount of agi as possible and high dex while still having enough points to invest in vit.

Vit: 70-150
Int: Remaining Points

Because we're melee class, Int has little to offer, just bump the remaining points in here for a bigger SP Pool to use your skills.

Dex: 220-270

Once again you have to experiment to find a nice dex. You want to have as much hit as possible to hit people that use flee builds on their stalkers and sins. Cocentration gives you an addition 50 hit which helps, Pierce gives another 50 if you need it but all and all it'll still be better if you had a huge hit value to begin with. Just look at what I wrote under Agi again.

Luk: In 30's (i.e. 30, 60, 90..) Remaining Points

Luk is pretty useful although it does not seem like it. Every ten points gives a bonus to Lucky Dodge which is quite useful at times against aspd sins. This also increases the chances of critting when you're in Zerk mode. But usually that means you're screwed anyway. But however, Luk does increase your attack too so invest as much as possible in 30's after all the other major stats have been filled.

Skills:

With a max job level of 120, you can easily get all the skills you need. In this section I'll tell you about each skill that is worth using and how to use them.

Two Hand Sword Mastery: Pretty Basic

Increase HP Recovery: Pretty Basic

Bash: Some people prefer this over Pierce and that's debatable. However bash is really nice for potters as it doesn't knock back and has a 25% chance to stun if they have lower than 100 vit.

Magnum Break: In terms of damage, it's pretty bad but the time you'll use this is when you charged right into the same cell as the opposing player, by knocking them back you can easily bowling bash them.

Endure - This avoids the "flinch" animation so it's gangster. The free +10 Mdef isn't too shabby either.

Spear Mastery: Pretty Basic

Pierce: An alternative to Bash, it his twice but each at half the power of bash, it doesn't stun like bash would but however does give a bonus 50 hit.

Spear Boomerang: Often overlooked however this skill is actually very useful against casters like wizards, especially if they have a huge vit, this can shoot out some shocking numbers.

Auto Counter: Probably your best bet against zerking sins if you do not have a Sinx card. Annoys them though.

Bowling Bash: The main attack you'll be using. 500% damage with a knock back. Also note, this skill hits TWICE making it twice as deadly. Sins that rely on aspd and smiths hate knights for this.

Riding/Cavalry Mastery: Faster speed while walking and normally spears have a base attack of 75 vs Medium, while mounted, this changes to 100 vs Medium.

Charge Attack: Thank god they made this skill, this skill absolutely kills, you like "charge" right onto the same cell as the opposing guy in a second closing any distance in between in a flash. This + Bowling Bash is just a killer.

Aura Blade: Extra attack is always nice, works with all weapons too.

Parry: Extremely useful if you're using two-handed swords, this blocks 50% of all in coming melee attacks! Hence why some Knights chose to use two-handed swords over spears.

Concentration: A double edged sword in normal servers. Your attack gets a nice boost percentage wise 25%, a bonus 50 hit and your defenses are lowered by 25% too. Just plain awesome.

Berserk: Last resort, a second life, nothing else but at times COULD turn the tide of battle.

Items:Here's a list of Items you should obtain with the alternatives

Armor:

-Valkyrie's Armor [1]: All Stats +1, Indestructible makes it safe against stuff like Melt Down, Whitesmith Card and Acid Demonstration.
You'll want at least two of these, a Tao Gunka Card and a Ghostring in the other. If you're able to afford it however, Gloom Under the Night is highly recommended. Tao Gunka lowers armor defense making it great against thana while Ghostring is the bane of skills like Sacrifice, Acid Demostration, Asura Strike. Gloom adds 40% more damage to dark and holy elements, which is basically just about everyone with donates on. Switch from Tao to Gloom once you're at 50% or below 50%.

Garment:

-Valkyrie's Manteau[1]: Reflects 5+Refine Rate*2% Physical Melee Damage for Knights. Reflect is nice why not?
You'll want two of these too, a Sinx/Giant Whisper Card and a Deviling in the other. Sinx gives cloak which gives you an edge in battle while you use Deviling in junction with Ghostring to further reduce the effectiveness of physical skills, Giant Whisper is an nice alternative to Sinx if you can't get one, it adds more attack which is always nice

Shield:

-Valkyrja's Shield[1]: Adds 20% Resistance against Water, Fire, Shadow and Undead, +5 Mdef.
Two of these as well, one with Thara Frog, the other with Maya. Thara Frog reduces damage you take from Demi-Humans by 30% where as you switch in Maya against casters to have a 50% chance to reflect their single target spells

Shoes:

-Sleipnirs: Increases Movement Speed, +20% HP/SP, SP Recovery +15%, +10 Mdef, Indestructible. More Hp and Sp and Fast Walk, the best! If you can get a slotted one of these, An Amon Ra Card would help alot too.
-Valkyrie's Shoes[1]: Nothing special but for the slot you can use either Matyr, Verit or Amon Ra Card.

Accessory:

-Megingjard: +40 Str, +7 Mdef, Need I say more? And With two slots you can shove more Mantis cards in further boosting your Str. Since Meg[2]'s are hard to get, Meg[1]s or just plain regular Megs work too.
-Ring[1]: +1 Str, slotted which makes it useful.
Cards you want for these things are probably Mantis and Horong

Weapons:

-Pike[4]
-Katana[4]
-Blade[4]

Card Combos:
Turtle General, Turtle General, Thanatos, Valkyrie Rangris/Golem/Phreeoni
Turtle General, Turtle General, Hydra, Valkyrie Rangris/Golem/Phreeoni

[Swords Only]Put Sword Guardians in the place of Turtle Generals. Sword Guardians give one-handed and two-handed swords +5 hit, critical rate +5 and +25% with Bowling Bash

Spears Vs Two-Handed Swords:

Which should you use? Spears are well one handed and therefore gives you the slot for a shield which can be a life saver. Not to mention the size penalty can be negated by mounting. Where as Two-Handed swords allow you to use Parry. But at the same time, Parry is only useful against melee classes and the size penalty of two-handed swords is 75 vs Medium. If you can get the cards for four weapons, then of course, use both. However if you're only able to choose one, I'll say pick spears over swords just for the shield.

Other Important Things:
-Elemental Converters: These are great as they can be of any element.
-Cursed Water: Enchants with Shadow property
-Box of Storms: Enchants Water property

Leveling Guide:

Since this is a high rate we're talking about here, I'll skip the 1-100 part, I'm sure that's all very simple to accomplish.

100-180: Abyss 3: Buy a Dragon Slayer, round up a lot of dragons and kill them with bowling bash. Another alternative is Ice Dungeon Level 3, grab a thanatos weapon as mobs here do have relatively high defense and you'll be breezing right through them. If thanatos isn't available, Ice Pick works just as well.

180-300: Step into Lighthalzen Dungeon Level 3, aka Bio Labs 3. Leveling here may be frustrating as the fastest way to level a knight here is to kill stuff without much thought. You WILL die alot, but please do not be discouraged as it will all be over soon. The fastest way for me was to grab a Spear with Turtle General, Turtle General, Thanatos, Phreeoni and a shield with Maya. Randomly charge into mobs and hope your attacks will kill them before they kill you. Try to avoid Cecils at first if you can as you need decent dex to hit them. As for Katrinns, just cross your fingers, pray to god, do what ever and hope they'll kill themselves from the reflect. You don't have to bring pots, if you're doing decent usually the heal from leveling will be enough to keep you going for awhile. I once cleared an area in this place just by that. If you feel at Level 180, you're not ready for this yet, step back into Abyss 3 for awhile and come back later.

Note: the card combo Turtle General, Turtle General, Phreeoni, Incantation Samurai works just as well for leveling. Samurai ignores the defense of the enemy thus you'll be doing the same amount of damage to every single mob. The downside is however it does tick hp a little and a little bit at a time so yea, take your pick!
